Today, Grandma and Papa taught me how to chop vegetables for rice pilaf. They gave me a butter-knife to use. I know they aren't sharp but that's probably a good thing because I'm not to good with knives' yet. But what I did figure out watching Grandma is that chopping is all in the body language. Watch me work in the video. Oh by the way after my nap Papa and Grandma took me to the Point Defiance Zoo where we met up with Daddy and Mommy, at the end of each year they have lights everywhere at night. It was amazing. Grandpa was having fun taking pictures without a flash and moving the camera around to get color swirls. Wow we Wow

We got to go to the fair with Ava and Jim and Katie Monday. What a treat when Ava got there she was so excited. The slide calmed her down, (still not her speed). She did like the train and the tractor and the merry-go-round.

A Day at the Park

Well this is it, it had to end sometime. On a positive note, we had a great time today in the town of San Gimigniono. We got there just in time for lunch so we went to a great little Tratoria in a square called della Madonna I was really hungry so I ate a whole bowl of ministrone soup and some bread. Then Grandpa took me out for a walk while everyone else ate. Then we went for a walk to a park and I fell asleep in the stroller. It was very peaceful. Then Me and Mommie and Grandma and Grandpa went back to the villa so I could sleep, (actually I think Grandpa wanted to take a nap) Daddy and Auntie Di stayed in town. Daddy to take pictures and Auntie Di to shop. So now I'm going to lay down for a nap and Mommy is going to pack.

Ciao everyone see you back in the States:

Well it was a rainy day in San Gimignano today. We spent the morning  in the town and said our good byes to Leo and had a late lunch then we went back to the Villa for a nap. I just woke up from a nap and now I'm going to have some milk and play so later we can go to the town for dinner. Wednesday I have to fly back home, that's going to be tuff, it's a long trip. My Grandma and Grandpa are going to stay another week but my Auntie Di is coming back with me and my Mom and Dad.

Right now I'm sitting with my Dad while my Grandpa is posting this blog. If you check out my Ava Bella website you can see all the pictures my Dad has posted of our trip. I think Italy is my favorite country so far although I still really like Guatemala too.

Ciao for now:

Wow, what a vacation. I think I'm having the most fun of everyone. Plus I don't have to take a lot of naps. I just sleep in the stroller when I'm being pushed around. The first week we were in Sicily, that's where my Grandpa and Daddy's family lives. The first day we were there My Daddy and Grandpa's relatives from Partinico, (near Palermo) came to our villa to visit. They were all very impressed with the way I eat pasta. Oh yea pasta and bread are my new favorite foods, I still like beans and rice but pasta and bread are right up there at the top. Anyway there is a video below of the whole Viola family watching me eat pasta. They are all cheering Brava and clapping so I got in on the action too. It was great fun, check out the video and you'll see what I mean.

Ciao

PS, I know some other Italian words too like grazie, buono, mangia, pasta
and the GPS lady taught me, right, left and roundabout.

This Wednesday after breakfast, music class and a nap, Uncle Greg came over and had lunch. He was crackin me up. He's a real hoot that Uncle Greg. Everything he did made me laugh. Watch the video below and see for yourself.

It was a fun day today even though I've got a new tooth coming in. I helped Grandpa pack for the trip, went for a bike ride, walked in the garden with Grandma, watched Grandpa shave off his chin beard, and went to the zoo before Daddy picked me up.

Betcha can't guess what kind of desert I had after lunch at Grandma and Grandpa's house today?

I'll give you a hint...it's a color of a berry.

Forever Family Day

On March 28, 2009 we celebrated the first of many "Forever Family Days". Yes it has been one year since Ava came to us from Guatemala and she has brought so much love into all of our hearts.

Today Daddy took me to Grandpa and Grandma's house. It was a lot of fun. They took me to my music class in the morning and when we got back Grandpa took me outside to play. I went on the swing and then we took a walk and Grandpa showed me a caterpillar I guess he thought I would like it but I didn't and I ran away. We had fun, I threw rocks and ran and touched the trees. After my nap Grandma took me outside to play. It was a nice day today.

Driving Grandpa's Car

Well, I had a nice talk with my Grandpa and I told him to get busy and post some videos to my blog. He promised he would so here is a video of me eating all by myself with my own spoon and Grandma reading me a book. We had a fun day
